Add file to index with special character (ei – "dash") or accent fail without any message

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Create a file named attività.txt or my–test.txt
- Select the file and choose "Git add..." from context menu
or - Choose "Git Commit"
- Select all file unversioned and committed
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The files added regularly to the tree; like happen if I do the same operation from git bash!.
TortoiseGIT doesn't show any error, in the first case it give a general errors message:
Error Failed to append to index
Error - Failed to initialize entry. 'file-path/attività.txt' cannot be opened
In the second it stuck and then crash
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS: Windows 7
TortoiseGIT: 1.7.6.0
Git: 1.7.8.msysgit.0
