Explorer runs amok on Windows 7, 64-bit, Version 1.7.6

By alexander.pa... on December 29, 2011 22:35 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Install Windows 7 (64-Bit) Professional and TortoiseGit with Plink
  2. Clone a repository.
  3. Icon-Overlay (or anything not clearly visible) triggers explorer.exe to go up to 100% CPU-usage (or 50% on a multi-core system).

I've expected that tortoiseGit integrates well into the windows explorer, but unfortunately there is a mess which causes the explorer to go wild.

I'm using now 1.6.5 which works fine, while version 1.7.6 (64bit) reproduces the problem, even after reinstalling the software.

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit.

I'm also using Dropbox and TortoiseSVN (and tried without them). The cause is really Tortoise Git 1.7.6.

If I can provide you with more information (Debug-Information, Error-Logs, ...) please let me know!
