Installer not requesting elevation and failing on win 10

Midway through the wizard the installer's next button shows the icon indicating that it will request elevation to administrator for installing the files but this elevation request never happened on my system and the installation just froze. I had to run it through an elevated command prompt to get the installation to work (since you can't right click elevate a msi file easily). I'm on the latest Windows 10 x64, running the latest installer TortoiseGit-2.10.0.2-64bit.msi.
