username auto-suggest behaves unexpectedly after second @ character
Steps to reproduce
- Start composing a toot on a Mastodon instance.
- Start typing a username (e.g.
The list of autosuggested users should progressively narrow as I type more of the username.
After the second @ character (so,
@foo@ and beyond, up to
@firstname.lastname@example.org), the autosuggest appears to start performing a substring search on everything after the second @, or at least, not doing what I expect.
This is most noticeable when typing in usernames for those who have accounts with the same username on multiple different instances, for example,
@lynnesbian. What I want to do in that case is use the autosuggest to select the account I'm actually trying to mention, but because it acts strangely after the second @, this is not possible.
