[UI] Allow lists to be pinned
I think it would be helpful if user-specified lists could be pinned to the tab bar at the top, similar to how searches can be pinned.
In order to view a list, a user must currently open up the menu, tap Lists, then select a list; or tap the instances button, Lists, then the list. The multi-step process makes it impractical to use a list as one's primary view, and the limited UI of the list view means that a user must back out of the list view to perform common functions (such as writing a toot).
The main benefits to allowing lists to be pinned are:
- It would be easier to access commonly-used lists
- Scroll position would be retained when switching between the list and other timelines
- The full UI, including the new-post button, would be visible when viewing a list
- It would be practical to use a pinned list instead of or in addition to the home timeline
Using a list instead of/in addition to the home timeline would be useful when a user follows people who post very frequently, but only has time to keep up with those who post less frequently. I would like to make a slow-posters list my primary view.
