Inserting custom emoji often fails
Created by: deutrino
Often when I use the emoji chooser to add a custom emoji, when I post the toot, I only see the :emoji_code: instead. This is visible on the expanded toot itself, in the timelines, and in the web UI, so it is not a display issue with Mastalab.
I think what might be happening - but haven't checked yet - is that because I use several Mastodon instances from Mastalab, sometimes a custom emoji installed on instance A appears in the chooser when I'm composing a toot for instance B, which doesn't have that custom emoji.
Things that need to happen to better characterize this bug:
- find out if the custom emoji chooser is properly filtered based on the instance for which the toot is being composed
- test this behavior on a few different instances
Apologies for the imprecise bug report but this has been happening to me for months and I've never had the time to characterize it properly. I still don't have time this morning but I am opening a ticket in the hopes I can come back and work on it later or someone else will fill it in.
Mastalab version: 1.8.4 but problem has existed for months
Android version: 7.1.2
