Intransparent, non-optional tracking of personal information

I was very surprised to notice a mention of tracking scroll by as I looked at a job output, and to my dismay had to find out by looking at the source that this project injects undocumented, non-optional tracking of personal information such as user name and internal GitLab/project URLs. I was unable to figure out where it sends those information by default, nor able to find any GDPR statement about what happens to my information, but any kind of undisclosed tracking seems to me to be highly unethical, so even the suspicion of my data being secretly sent somewhere is a huge red flag against this project.

Should the tracking be optional and/or legitimate, it should absolutely be mentioned in the projects README file instead of having to be discovered by accident upon reading the job logs.
