Add ARIA roles and landmarks
From Designing Layouts for Screen Readers:
One way to provide users with a conceptual map of the page is by using semantic HTML5 elements like
<header>
,<nav>
,<main>
,<section>
, and<aside>
. These elements have built in data associated with them that is parsed by browsers and screen readers. They create landmarks on a web page. By using these elements judiciously in place of<div>
elements, we can provide extra information to assistive technology devices and help the user build a conceptual map of our page.
Deimos has already judiciously used semantic elements when making the site but I figure since I'm making issues for all of the sections from the linked article above I'd make one for this too. At some point we should probably use a screen reader or the accessibility dev tools to make sure it's all still done properly.
