Just a quick suggestion, a private user tagging feature like RES has for Reddit.

It would allow you to add a short text tag (and maybe a custom color) to a user, then in future posts that persons username would have that tag by their name.

Another thing that RES does which is very helpful, is save the post or comment that you applied the tag on, so you can remember years in the future why you tagged some random user "potato man".
