This is the wiki for the candidate assessment tool (CAT). Here you will find our feature documentation as they relate to user stories. If you contribute to this project you should be writing one pagers for the features you work on.
Here you will find documentation related features and functions of the tool. We have taken many different approaches to gathering requirements (user Stories, OnePagers, Use Cases)
Additional documentation includes:
* Test Cases,
* Features lists,
* Role Based Access Controls (RBAC),
If you contribute to this project you should be updating documentation related to the features you are working on.
## What is CAT?
CAT is a platform for delivering standardized tests. the long term goal of this platform is to deliver all of our departmental tests.
CAT is a Public Service Commission (PSC) platform for delivering standardized tests. It began as an initiative to modernize (digitize) and host the managerial in-basket paper test, the new digital test was to be called the eMIB (electronic managerial inbox) a test designed to simulate a day in the life of an government manager and to assess a person's competencies to lead and make decisions.
Since then a number of events (mainly the COVID-19 pandemic) have prevented that original goal from coming to life, however the tool has instead become an important component in the delivery of online second language testing to meet the needs of the Government of Canada (GoC).
The long term goal of this platform is to replace all other platforms (OIT, OLTF, OOPS) currently in use for the delivery of PSC tests.
