The Synology OS supports installing Docker through the web based DSM. In order to install docker click on package center:
Search for Docker and click install:
You cannot use the DSM to run the Taisun Docker container as it needs to be linked to the root level Docker socket. In order to run the application properly you will need to run it via SSH access.
First open the DSM control panel and click on "Terminal & SNMP" under advanced settings:
Then check "Enable SSH service" and apply:
Once SSH access is enabled you will be able to SSH to your DiskStation using putty (https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html) :
Replace the 192.168.10.19 here with your IP and click Open.
Once connected you will be prompted for your username and password. Enter the same credentials you use to login to the DSM web interface.
Once logged in run the following command to start a Taisun Container:
sudo docker run --name taisun -d \
-p 3000:80 \
-v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock \
You will be prompted for a password , enter your DSM password here.
The container will need to download and be started, once completed you should see a window like this:
You can close this putty window and access the Taisun application using the URL:
From the Taisun application you should be able to manage all aspects of your Docker containers.
