Project status?

Sorry if this is not the right place for this. I have a small matrix-synapse server with a local mxisd instance running on debian. mxisd is recently broken after package upgrade, and I notice it's no longer developed. I'm wondering what the status of grid is, as I'm concerned as well with the issues raised in the matrix security document. If grid is stalled, is the best way forward to manually maintain the mxisd installation and continue to use it with the packaged version of matrix-synapse?
