installation/boot difficulty

I copied System Rescue ISO sysresccd/* to a partition, ran GRUB2 configuration file maker in a GNU/Linux, and am having problems booting System Rescue (I removed /sysresccd from your given GRUB menu entry so those sections start with /boot). Having just one directory/folder name in a root partition (and everything in that) is a bit weird and shouldn't have to be done. I symbolic linked the /boot/x86_64 files into /boot and that time it was able to boot except crashed into a recovery shell. Does it really need /sysresccd in the partition and everything in that, and shouldn't there also be a way to install from the live ISO?
