Trust assumption about communication channels

In §2.1.2 of the Protocol of the Swiss Post Voting System (v0.9.10) specification document, a list of trust assumptions for each type of communication channel is provided. Essentially, a communication channel can be trustworthy or untrustworthy.

How should be interpreted a trustworthy channel in terms of security goals? What is the formal definition of the underlying channel security model?
