Patchwork sees Manyverse but not the other way around

Steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Install Manyverse
2. Open Manyverse
3. Open Patchwork on the same WiFi
4. Set Username on Manyverse / Publish any other message
5. Follow the Manyverse account on Patchwork
6. Comment on any of Manyverse accounts messages

Expected behavior:

• The Manyverse account should see the Patchwork account in connections
• The Manyverse account should see any replies from the Patchwork account

Actual behavior:

• The Manyverse account does not see the Patchwork account
• The Manyverse account does not see any replies from the Patchwork account

Technical details

• Manyverse app version: v0.1904.8-beta / v0.1904.22-beta (I completely reinstalled between the two versions)
• Device/phone model: Samsung Galaxy J5
• Android OS version: 9.0 Unofficial Lineage OS
