GoogleAnalytics rejects the @ character from the dataflow names or ID
When a dataflow name or ID contains the '@' character,
Then Google Analytics cannot properly return the name in the indicators for dataflow views or downloads.
Example
The Dataflow with name Income Distribution and Poverty and ID SDD@IDD is displayed in the GoogleAnalytics indicators as REDACTED (Potential Email Address).
The issue is most likely due to the fact that Google Analytics wants to prevent breaking privacy users through the Privacy Policies and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) best practices (see https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6366371).
Potential technical solution
Whenever the '@' character is found in the data source (found in the Dataflow name
, dataflow ID
, AgencyID
, Source ID
), then the character should be replaced by '[at]' before it is sent to GoogleAnalytics.
So, with the above example, a Dataflow with the ID SDD@IDD would be retrieved like SDD[at]IDD by Google Analytics.
