Avoid highlighting italic styled elements in descriptions as search hits on the search result page
As Yavuz,
I want that italic styled elements in descriptions are not highlighted as search hits on the search result page,
So that they are not confused with real search hits.
Details
In the DE search results, I see originally italic formatted text is descriptions wrongly highlighted as search hit.
See how it is properly displayed in the Overview:
Technical details
The reason for this is that search hits are currently marked with the HTML <em>
style element, which is also used by users to style text in italics.
Instead of <em>
, the search hits should use a different, more appropriate html style, such as <mark>
, like here: This text is a search hit. Also see here.
Example
- Go to https://de-qa.siscc.org/?lc=en&fs[0]=Topic%2C0%7CEnvironment%23ENV%23&pg=0&fc=Topic&bp=true&snb=4
- Find the Freshwater resources (long term annual average) and see DF description
