Is there a guide for understanding the code architecture?

I am trying to do TDDFT with a gaussian wave packet form of light in siesta, but the current code seems not to support this function. I'd like to try to modify the code, but I am not familiar with FORTRAN and SIESTA's code architecture. And is there a manual for explaining the code architecture of SIESTA?
