C++ Interface for MPI
Currently, Sherpa uses the C++ bindings for parallel computing with MPI. These bindings are not part of the MPI standard anymore and thus not necessarily available on high performance computing centers. For example, on the Dresdner computing center these bindings were only installed up on request during the last major software update. The situation is explained in more detail e.g. in https://blogs.cisco.com/performance/the-mpi-c-bindings-are-gone-what-does-it-mean-to-you .
