Compilation takes a very long time
NixOS currently ships sequoia
0.10.0. This package is currently marked as a "broken package" because of test failures.
I am currently trying to upgrade the package to version 0.11.0 to see if that fixes the tests. Unfortunately, sequoia
0.11.0 cannot be built within 3600 seconds on the NixOS build infrastructure.
I think it would be great a non-broken build of the latest sequoia
release to be shipped in NixOS.
- Do you have any short-term suggestions for how the build time could be reduced? I was thinking of perhaps disabling the Python bindings for the time being, for example.
- More long-term, is reducing compilation time something that people have thought about? Perhaps there are easy wins that just haven't been prioritised?
