In "Single file mode", the output PDF file loss certain document info
Hi. I noticed that, in "single file mode", the output PDF file loss certain document info that already existing in original PDF file (input PDF).
To check document info, open PDF file by Okular, then go to "File" | "Properties"
I noticed that the following are lost from document info table (file properties):
- Page size
I found that the above will lost if PDF Mix Tool utilize QPDF as a back-end during operation. But if it utilize PoDoFo the following will lost:
I test to do operation on PDF file by using QPDF (installed on my system from Official Fedora repositories) from command line, to see if there will be same loss. I used:
$ qpdf 1.pdf 2.pdf
The output PDF (2.PDF) did not loss any of the above mentioned fields (Page size, Title, Subject, Author, Creator, Producer, Created:, Modified:). They remain WITH THEIR DATA AS THEY WAS IN ORIGINAL PDF (1.pdf). The very nice is that even "Modified" date remain same as in original input PDF (QPDF does not make that it is used, which is nice for security & privacy).
I think this issue related to the following issue that I already opened (please read my last comment within it): #14
I think that the document issue should NOT CHANGED AT ALL & remain the same as they in original (input) PDF file exactly as QPDF already do when used from command line during it's default setting
