Epson WorkForce WF-7710 working (with non-free networkscan plugin)
The Epson WorkForce WF-7710 is not yet mentioned in the list of supported Epson models. I got my own MFP working via WiFi by:
- installing the Image Scan v3 (including the networkscan plugin)
- explicitly specifying the device (hostname or IP address) in
/etc/imagescan/imagescan.conf
This makes scanning work for both GNOME's Simple Scan application and Epson's Image Scan. See AskUbuntu #1074661 and #895002 for reference.
Simple Scan has issues with both using a centered area for scanning the image and doing duplex scans when using the feeder, but that seems to be a bug in Simple Scan. In Image Scan v3 duplex scans via the ADF work correctly.
Can we add the Epson WorkForce WF-7710 (and some more WorkForce models) to the list of supported devices?
