Scanning inoperative with Samsung Multi-function SCX 4300

Hello. I use a Samsung Multi-function SCX 4300 for printing without problem under Kubuntu 18.04 and 18.10 (dev). Therefore, the scanning function is inoperative with 18.04 and 18.10 but had worked perfectly with Zesty (17.04). I tried many propositions to fix this issue without success. That is the reason why I open a bug report.

The behavior is similar with different frontends: xsane, skanlite, simple-scan.

Of course, I can provide more information.
