Canon LiDE 220 gray output is bad.

I noticed that the scanner produces very bad output in Gray scale mode, compared to color. It is nearly as if 150 dpi looks like 75 dpi in color. Also, the pixel aspect ratio seems to be totally wrong.

In short, gray is unusable, and color is also quite bad compared to my old C309a HP scanner (hpaio). Not sure if this was better before. SANE versions is 1.0.27-5.9.
