[hp5590] Read only values aren't accessible via CLI options (unrecognized option)
According to the manpage for the hp5590 backend, there are four read only values that can be queried using the following options:
--button-pressed none|power|scan|collect|file|email|copy|up|down|mode|cancel [none] [hardware]
Get ID of last button pressed (read only)
--color-led color|black_white [color] [hardware]
Get value of LED indicator (read only)
--counter-value 1..99 (in steps of 1) [1] [hardware]
Get value of LCD counter (read only)
--doc-in-adf[=(yes|no)] [no] [hardware]
Get state of document-available indicator in ADF (read only)
However, none of these options seem to be working:
$ scanimage -d hp5590 --button-pressed
Output format is not set, using pnm as a default.
scanimage: unrecognized option '--button-pressed'
$ scanimage -d hp5590 --color-led
Output format is not set, using pnm as a default.
scanimage: unrecognized option '--color-led'
$ scanimage -d hp5590 --counter-value
Output format is not set, using pnm as a default.
scanimage: unrecognized option '--counter-value'
$ scanimage -d hp5590 --doc-in-adf
Output format is not set, using pnm as a default.
scanimage: unrecognized option '--doc-in-adf'
The underlying mechanism does work, because the values in brackets when using -A
do reflect changes on the scanner. It's only the querying via options that doesn't work.
Here are the versions I'm using on Mint 20.3:
$ scanimage --version
scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.32; backend version 1.0.29
$ scanadf --version
scanadf (sane-frontends) 1.0.14
