genesys: brightness+contrast not working

As stated here brightness and contrast are not working.

Bisect down to this commit: 1ac04c62

Not sure if this is related or a separate bug. On master there's always a black area on the left no matter how it calibrates. This doesn't happen on 1.0.29.
