High Data Usage

I use OpenTodoList on my Android Phone with a WebDAV account for text notes only. My library does not contain any media files and only amounts to ~350 kB. Although I often go days without using OpenTodoList, my mobile data usage amounts to around 500 MB per month as if the app is permanently syncing with the server. Wifi data usage is even higher with > 1GB. It seems that my data usage was significantly lower before April 2023 when version 3.44.0 was released. Can anyone confirm this behavior?
