Calvin's feedback

The Send Email button didn't look like it worked, so here it is just in case:

Visual

  • course_organization row title should be humanized.
    • Count of Records for column title could be more descriptive, such as Courses or Number of Courses if being more explicit.
    • Title is more than just organizations, but maybe something more like, Organizational Courses.
    • When the course listing is filtered, the rest of the page has this awkward space...but I'm thinking that the rest of the page was just for feedback.
    • Browser tab title (head > title html tag) needs to be humanized.
    • The first question at the bottom is in normal text, but the remaining questions are italicized.
    • Some white space is needed between the last question and the Send Email button.
    • Generally, the whitespace between a question and it's input should be quite small in comparison to the space between question sets. These appear to be the same, making it harder to visually see where one question and it's input ends and the next begins.

Functional

  • Table is not mobile responsive to change row format on small screens.
    • Perhaps I'm not doing it right, but I can't get the filtering to work on a mobile device, but works well on desktop.
    • Tabular data generally has column headings for filtering on the data within that column. However, that may not be the intent of this presentation.
    • Even if filtering on column shouldn't be done for this type of presentation, there should be the option for sorting.
    • If I wanted to filter the organizations that weren't next to each other, that wouldn't be possible as a group. That is, if I wanted to see the data on: Duke, MathWorks, and UC-Boulder; I'd have to look at their data individually.
    • If you expect people to give a yes/no or specific set of answer(s), present it as a drop down list of values or a radio button or multi-select if applicable. Otherwise, you'll get the folks like me who dislike absolutes and will present you with the gray area.
    • The last question is generally presented with a textbox, to allow folks who are wordy to see their text they've typed without having to scroll through.
    • Graph doesn't seem to be aligned with table, which becomes hard to read, especially when scaled up.
    • Send Email button isn't working.

Accessibility

  • WAVE reporting errors.
    • Missing jump to content for screen readers.
    • Even though this is a single page, with no depth, generally a navigation is provided for screen readers to know what is available on the page.
    • Clicking on the question does not place the cursor in the appropriate text box.
    • Vega claims to add aria tags on the svg format, but they aren’t appearing for me.
    • I didn't have jaws read the page to me, but I'd be curious how well it would do. A quick google search has some reported problems, but that was awhile back.

Overall

  • I haven't seen Vega before, but looks like a neat tool!
    • Kudos for not having and trackers, ads, etc that I normally block :-)
