Clarification on frontend approach for the link underlines
There are several options, (not all fully browser supported), for underlines in css we just need to get together and decide on them (and then implement them)
I'm currently just hardcoding these options for both themes
text-decoration-skip-ink: none;
text-underline-position: under;
The questions I have are:
Do we want to define these options as tokens for every type of link we do so for example or define underline styles on a per theme basis
define underline styles on a per theme basis would look like:
underline disappears when a y goes through the line on all gcd links with an underline and on website its solid all the way through
define per theme would look like:
body links (the blue ones)
default link: font-variant: medium color: midnightblue text-decoration-skip-ink: none text-underline-position: under
This sticks with how we've done things previously and means we can do different types of underline on different links - but its also a lot more verbose and possibly overkil
- we should probably all sit down and decide what options are available to us in the CSS to make sure the
