Cannot add PI to Project apon creation

I'm creating a Project in XNAT

Project created , description added , but the PI comes thru with no First name . Heres what ends up in XNAT :

I use firstname other places in my code to get the pi's name . Or should I be creating a PI object and adding it to the Project ?
