Tutorial on the instrument coordinator is missing

Defined as part of %v0.5.x, spawning issue for book keeping.

The IC seems to have become a key feature in the scheduler and part of normal usage, documentation on it is however rather limited. A tutorial on how to use it (add components, explain the interface etc.) is necessary.
