More than 8 cores for RISC-V generic `virt` machine

Why is there no support of more than 8 cores for RISC-V generic virt machine (as mentioned in the documentation of virt machine) ? For visionfive 2 it makes sense for 4 cores but having more than 8 cores for generic virt machine will scale the emulated machine for higher performance if the host has more cores in hardware.
