Virgl on Upstream windows builds?

Goal

I was wondering if there is any hope of getting upstream support for the virglrenderer on windows hosts?

Technical details

A patch exists for 7.2.0 with the sdl frontend https://github.com/kjliew/qemu-3dfx/blob/master/virgil3d/0001-Virgil3D-with-SDL2-OpenGL.patch but the previous talks for it seems to have stalled as of 1-26-2023. When built with MSYS2/UCRT64, it seems to work quite well with linux guests, but not android guests.

There's also another patch created a couple of years earlier: https://github.com/matthias-prangl/qemu-virgl-winhost

This means that it's not a matter of how, but rather a matter of when. Since these two provide a PoC to demonstrate that virgl is possible on a Windows host.

I'm hoping that virgl gets into windows builds in one way or another as it's long overdue.
