Area2D does not report collisions with raycasts

It seems that Area2D with a CollisionShape2D child do not report collisions when probed with 2D raycasts.
I create my raycast with:
var raycast = get_world_2d().get_direct_space_state().intersect_ray(Vector2_origin, Vector2_end, exceptions_list)
I've discussed it briefly with @reduz on IRC, and he said it might be a bug, hence this ticket.
Here is a minimal working example of this issue (made with 1.1rc2): http://remi.verschelde.fr/files/misc/area2d_raycasts.zip The main scene contains a StaticBody2D that casts raycast upwards (at 130px). If you move it over the dirt line, it will report collisions with the tiles at the top of the map, who are StaticBody2Ds too. But it does not report collisions with the Area2D which is placed above it.
