Which mathematics journals own their own name but are published commercially?
I am looking for a good sized list, so please help. The idea is to identify journals that could change publisher more easily than those whose title is owned by the publisher (such as Inventiones Mathematicae). Journals published by learned societies do not count for this list.
I suspect some clever librarians could find this out more systematically.
To start with, there are some old and famous ones:
- Acta Mathematica and Arkiv för Matematik (International Press)
- American Mathematical Monthly (Taylor and Francis)
- J. für die Reine und Angewandte Math (de Gruyter).
- I think Communications in Pure & Applied Math (Wiley) is actually owned by Courant Institute
- Israel J. Math presumably qualifies.
- There are several French journals that qualify, I think, but I leave that to the better informed members here.
