js2-error face not visible

In the picture below you can see:

  1. describe() is highlighted as a normal function call (left window)
  2. there is a js2-error overlay on the describe word (top-right window)
  3. the js2-error face is correctly set by modus-operandi to a version of "red"
  • Expected: the word describe is red
  • Actual: the word describe is not red
