top shows incosistent and imprecise memory units

As shown in the screenshot, top shows a RES value in TB unit, but a VIRT value in GB for process 2214. The RES unit (TB) seems not to be chosen well, since it is smaller than the VIRT value and is less precise than a GB unit with the same number of digits.
