** Festive Mars Challenge
Following the success of our mars
bar challenge last year, Father
Anthony would like to ask us to do it
again this year. Whilst many of us
are celebrating with family and
friends; Christmas for many
prisoners, is an incredibly distressing
time being away from their families, often causing an adverse impact on their mental well-being. Father Anthony witnessed the positive impact the mars bar (something most of us take for granted) and Christmas cards had on the prisoners at Channings Wood Prison, he was humbled by the experience. To enable this mission to happen we need to work with prison security, therefore we can only accept MARS bars (no other chocolate allowed). multiple packs of 4 would make their task easier and ensures all prisoners receive the same item. Last year some parishioners preferred to donate money and we purchased mars bars from Bookers. Equally if anyone is able to help us write out Christmas cards please let us know and we will supply the cards and what needs to be written inside of them.
