tm-210/lt023g works, touchscreen is active, however cannot interface with the device in anyway
I cannot provide any log files, since I cannot do anything on this device at the time being for reasons I'll describe.
I've installed PostmarketOS on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T210/lt023g, I don't know if there's a difference) and I can use the touchscreen in i3 to move the config wizard window around, however I cannot interface with the device in any way.
Plugging in a keyboard doesn't work. I've tried 3, since I thought it just couldn't power the LEDs at first. The networking doesn't work since pmbootstrap doesn't provide you a way to configure that prior to flashing the device.
So, I used pmbootstrap chroot
to add /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
with the contents:
country=gb
update_config=1
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
network={
scan_ssid=1
ssid="DoESLiverpool"
psk="password"
}
which works for my Pi's, Laptop and other devices in the same directory. This is also documented as how to do it in https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/WiFi
Additionally, I have also added /etc/network/interfaces
with the contents:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
These changes have not allowed my tablet to connect. I cannot see the filesystem of the installed os with TWRP, and I'm not booting from SD, as I don't know how and cannot figure it out from the provided documentation, as it doesn't tell you anything about how to boot from microsd, it is not clear enough. It does not say what will produce this outcome, but implies that simply flash_kernel
to the devices emmc and then using the regular flash
to an sd will work, however this just makes the device stick on "loading" for me upon boot.
Any help? I would really appreciate this, as I have a lot of use cases for these things, and I'd love to develop support for some devices if I can get a head start having them be useful. In fact, I know a few others in real life that'd be able to contribute massively to development if we could make use of old tablets, this could also be the content of a future talk at the Festival of Maintenance which has just finished up this year (livestream available on youtube).
TL;DR:
I installed via:
pmbootstrap flash--android-recovery-zip
pmbootstrap export
cp /tmp/postmarketOS-export/* /mnt/sdcard_location
then installing it in TWRP 3.0
The device then boots up into i3 and I can move the config-wizard. I can't use a keyboard via usb>microusb converters I can't connect it to the network even when I add wpa_supplicant.conf and /etc/networks/interfaces
