poco f1 keeps waking up screen

What's the expected behaviour?

When I lock the poco f1, it should not wakeup unless there is a call or text.

What's the current behaviour?

The poco f1 keeps waking up - the screen keeps turning on. The phone doesn't go into suspend and battery drains super quickly.

How to reproduce your issue?

Install postmarketOS v23.06 Sxmo-sway on the poco f1.

1. I did not manually enable wake on calls.
2. After removing simcard from my poco f1, the phone no longer randomly wakes up.
3. I do not have this issue on a one plus 6 with simcard inserted.

What device are you using?

xiaomi-beryllium

On what postmarketOS version did you encounter the issue?

• edge (master branch)

• v23.06

• v22.12

• I confirm that the issue still is present after running sudo apk upgrade -a

How did you get postmarketOS image?

• from https://images.postmarketos.org
• I built it using pmbootstrap
• It was preinstalled on my device
• I used release-upgrade script

Found in my testing: #2132 (comment 1413490422)

There's an issue on sdm845 devices with Sxmo where the same text gets displayed 2 times, gets 2 notifications, etc. The multiple texts are especially prominent when the phone is dancing in between suspend and unsuspend. An SDM845 phone with Sxmo can display the same text sometimes 10 times if it's in the suspend/unsuspend dance.

I have investigated and sent a patch to Sxmo to fix the multiple text issue for sdm845 devices:

Although my patch fixed the multiple text issue on my oneplus 6 in testing, I did not have time to test it on the poco f1.

Moreover, Im not sure if the issue may be in modemmanager. Im posting here so someone with more knowledge than me can hopefully give feedback about root cause.
