Pure Maps does not show street names [pinephone]

What's the expected behaviour?

Pure maps shows street names in the default set up.

What's the current behaviour?

Pure Maps fails to show street names in the default setup on a pinephone.

How to reproduce your issue?

1. Install either 21.03 or edge on a pinephone.
2. Install Pure Maps, OSMScoutServer and some maps.
3. Open Pure Maps.
4. Zoom in and see that street names are missing.

What device are you using?

pine64-pinephone

Additional information

This is a known bug in the combination of the Pinephone and Pure Maps and is actually a bug in the Lima Graphics driver the Pinephone GPU.

Mobian Wiki Page

The Mobian Wiki gives a work around that "solves" the problem:

Force PureMaps to use software rendering only (note: this can be slow in satellite/hybrid mode, but ok in other modes)

This can be acheived by setting the environment variable LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1.
