Image preview freezes when seeing a QR code

Observed on DanctNIX Arch on PinePhone with both the packaged version and latest master

I assume it's supposed to display something when a QR code is scanned? All that happens for me is that the image preview freezes.

I see the following errors in the log, but all of them are printed prior to the freeze:
