CRASH/Timeout >> reload recipes command crashes 1.21.8 client

When I do /mi reload recipes (or all) in 1.20.4 nothing really happens and my admin character can use commands/operate just fine. (latest MMOitems 6.10.1)

When i do /mi reload all on 1.21.8 client (same configs, updated plugins to latest versions etc) the client has a freak out on my end, I am unable to enter commands/interact with the server and eventually I get timed out. I can swap servers (velocity/proxy commands) and then come back and then I can use commands again.

I believe something in the client is freaking out badly. Note: its exact same configs.
