Add exclusion patterns (possibly an exclusion patterns file)
It would be good to be able to exclude certain patterns from searching, since some folder types have a bunch of structure to them that isn't useful to back up, but may take a long time to crawl (e.g. .git
files, or some kinds of archive that are sharded into a million files).
We can probably specify this in two ways:
- From the command line via
--exclude=PATTERN
(maybe we can specify this more than once) - In a file, like
--exclude-from-file=FILE
It may also be worth checking for the existence of something like ~/.config/metadata-backup/.exclusions
as the "default exclude" file.
