Precisely define Melee, Ranged, Throwing in weapon data
Right now, the data-definition of a weapon is a bit all over the place. For example, whether or not something counts as a melee weapon in the system is purely driven by whether it has values in the shots counter; this definition though is only used to determine whether a weapon interacts with the ammo system.
Some of this variability is because SWADE doesn't rigorously define Melee vs Ranged; the core rules have two tables, but thrown weapons blur the lines, and Reach weapons are relegated to a notes
entry. This makes programatically listing weapons somewhat difficult.
Current status: Exploratory - what makes most sense from both a rules, UX, and data point of view. The key stakeholders in this discussion are content creators; both PEG and the community have a shared interest in displaying weapons in a consistent and useful fashion.
