Syntax mismatch between "man pdfgrep" and "pdfgrep --help"
I have noticed a mismatch in the syntax of the command
pdfgrep. After running the command
man pdfgrep, in SYNOPSIS, we have the followings syntax
pdfgrep [_OPTION_...] _PATTERN_ [_FILE_...] pdfgrep [_OPTION_...] [-e _PATTERN_ | -f _FILE_] [_FILE_...]
Here, the placeholder
_FILE_ is an optional argument as it is within brackets. However, if I type
pdfgrep somepattern (it is meant to follow the first syntax), I ran into an error
Usage: pdfgrep [_OPTION_]... _PATTERN_ _FILE_... See 'pdfgrep --help' for more information
This syntax, which is the same shown in
pdfgrep --help, is different from the syntax showed in
man pdfgrep. Here, the place holder
_FILE_ is mandatory. Indeed, that is the correct one. I can type
pdfgrep somepattern some_file.pdf and it runs normally...
The way I see it is clearly a mismatch in the syntax explanation. I hope I not saying something stupid because I am relatively newbie and this error would be pretty basic. However, if I am not right, this syntax explanation is ambiguous to me.
