Slightly reduce contrast between text and background
Black text (#000000) on white (#ffffff) background should be avoided because it is causing eye strain.

Proposal
We should avoid color value #000000 and use a slightly lighter black (e.g. #2e2e2e) when it is used for text on a white background. Conversely, we should use a very light gray instead of white when used on a black background. When used on a gray background, #000000 should be fine for text.
