Thank you for this project!
What would it take to get arm64
implemented? I'm currently running Debian on an MacBook Air (M1, 2020) and would love to give Pantheon a try. If you can point me where to get started, I can try building it (and maybe contribute back if you'd like this?)
Your repository doesn't include a license.
Could you possibly add one?
I believe the official Pantheon DE is mostly licensed under GPL-3.0.
One of the neat things about other DEs like GNOME is how they separate apps from the actual DE.
For Instance in KDE for Arch there is:
plasma-desktop
- minimal install
plasma
- Plasma + applications
I personally dislike the default Pantheon applications.
IMHO, most of them are just too basic and would rather use more professional applications.
Preferably, I would only install the DE and install my apps separately.
Summary: Enable minimal install for users who do not want all of Pantheon's default applications.

@mithrandirn You could always create a beta package.
IMHO I do not like almost all of the elementary apps, I love the DE and setting but the rest not so much. Especially the AppCenter. I much rather use Debian's Built in Software. Plz offer this as an option.
I'm utilizing Debian for the Free Software Aspects but, love the simplicity of Elementary OS.

conf: update testing daily package
Just installed on Debian netinstall 9.3.0 and I have no any sound settings in System Settings. Workaround is to install pavucontrol instead of standart elementary sound settings.
PS: Also created a question here https://elementaryos.stackexchange.com/questions/14917/add-application-shortcut-to-system-settings-in-pantheon to find temporary solution.
I have this file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/appcenter.list with the following content:
deb http://packages.elementary.io/appcenter xenial main
Does this repository conflict with your port?
I can confirm this

It's been over a week now and I've been unable to install Pantheon. Looks to be a mutter library. I imagine that it will be fixed soon.
