Have Idea - Not Sure This Is Feasible With painlessMesh
I have a large property and have lights around the perimeter. Want to create an ON/OFF box for each light - plan to use an ESP01S Relay Module on the posts itself. There will be about 160 ESP01S Relay Modules. I feel a Mesh network is the appropriate implementation to make this work as Wifi won't reach each node. I want to have a computer / raspberry pi to drive the lights on / off according to a schedule (a program sending out on/off commands) but want to be able to dynamically turn on / off lights with a WiFi phone while out and about the property.
Can painlessMesh:
- handle a network of 160 nodes?
- can ESP01S handle 160 nodes? Ie, is there enough memory space / processing power to handle this?
- be able to monitor the network with a NMP.
If this doesn't work - I will use Arduinos with RF receivers to receive broadcasts. But this will eliminate the monitoring abilities.
