add note to docs about how "base url" relates to plain pages
https://docs.gitlab.com/ce/user/project/pages/getting_started_part_two.html#urls-and-baseurls
add note to docs about how "base url" or "relative url" relates to plain pages
because many solutions point to _config.yml
perhaps it could be explicitly mentioned
exactly how this
relates to user/project/group
-
pages ( .html , .css)
and -
pages asset files & sub dir's ( /js/*.js /css/*.css ect??)
😫
_config.yml
that are configured without eg
https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/support-forum/issues/2863#Relative links to assets (css, js) or local HTML files not working after CI passes
https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/49310#note_106956776
https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/49310#note_170925202

https://github.com/mysociety/fixmystreet/commit/f3bb932c1b7f09fd4bffef2ef403c11008f9fcb0
perhaps the problems im seeing are caused by an update to gitlab dot com's pages ect
as i was trying to copy a working gl-pages site
the server hosting the working gltlab-ci.yml generated site was
Remote address:35.185.44.232:443
and the instance of pages i was seeing problems with
( 404 on .js and .css files and files sub dir's)
was running from a different address
.. i just checked while writing this
and all is now working
hosted by
Remote address:35.185.44.232:443
=]
but still i guess some improvement of the docs wrt urls/ECT!! of plain-html / non _config.yml setups
